Get to Know Me
I grew up in India in a close-knit family. My parents were always a big influence on me. In school, I was very studious 鈥 dedicated to my studies. I also participated in many extracurricular activities such as debate, cricket, and soccer. Growing up I wanted to be a teacher or physician and I decided medicine could help me do both. My older brother is a physician and was a role model for me as well.
Why I Treat Children
Growing up I was often sick and had to see a lot of doctors. The care I received from these doctors made a big impression on me. When I was in medical school, it was clear that pediatrics was what I wanted to do 鈥 as a way to give back and to honor those who cared for me.
What I'm Passionate About
I feel that educating families is very important. For example, helping them make the right choices when it comes to diet. I鈥檓 also committed to educating families on management and ways to prevent frequent asthma attacks.
How I Try to Make A Difference
I encourage families to ask me questions so I can help educate them on ways to stay healthy. I spend as much time as possible with each patient and family. My motto is: 鈥淣o question is a bad question.鈥
