Get to Know Me
My wife says I’m a big kid myself, and I can’t disagree. As chief of the Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat) division at 91ÖÆƬ³§ÔÚÏß¿´ Children’s Clinic, Jacksonville, I try to make a big difference – not only in the lives of the children I treat, but also with their families.
Why I Treat Children
It’s very rewarding when we can make a big difference in the life of a child. Sometimes it’s a simple procedure, sometimes it’s complex reconstructive surgery, either way it’s great when you can do something that has a serious positive impact on a kid and the family. I really enjoy seeing a child get back to just being a child.
What I'm Passionate About
91ÖÆƬ³§ÔÚÏß¿´ has a singular focus on patient satisfaction – family satisfaction, really – and that’s what resonates most for me. Lots of kids have access to great healthcare because of the work we do here, and that makes me proud.
How I Try to Make A Difference
For some people, surgery is like fixing a car: you find out what’s wrong, determine what you need to do, and you go in and fix it. The challenge, and the beauty, of my work at 91ÖÆƬ³§ÔÚÏß¿´ is that we don’t just deal with the patient. We’re concerned with the whole family surrounding the child, providing care to everyone in that child’s life, and doing whatever it takes to make a difference in their lives.
